<br />
Let me take you on your very own creative Journey. The class starts on Thursday. The requirement list is very vague, as everyone's Journey will be very different.<br />
<br />
The most important thing is to have your topic picked....don't choose anything too large. My own topic is TIME, but others are, apples, the sea, Nature. Other ideas to help you along your way are Trees, the beach, maps...just think of something you love and go with it. Bring some pictures or magazine cuttings or print outs off the internet relative to your subject. Don't bring anything too precious as we will be using these in the class.<br />
<br />
You will also need some calico.<br />
<br />
<br />
Below is a list of what you CAN bring if you have it....if you don't have it please do not rush out and buy anything as you will have a better idea of what your going to need depending on your topic. Also I can tell you where to go to get the best deals.<br />
<br />
Black sharpie markers<br />
sketch book,<br />
note book<br />
paint brushes any kind, bring a selection if you have them.<br />
watercolour pencils<br />
any kind of markers, pens, pencils etc...<br />
<br />
Needles, embroidery thread or any creative threads that are suitable for hand sewing.<br />
if anyone has sweet wrappers left over from xmas..you know the type you get in the boxes, quality street are the best.<br />
<br />

This bear was made for my little boy Oisin. He had a favourite shirt that he had grown out of, so we cut up the shirt to make the bear. For a bit of fun, I keft the colar and buttons off the front of the shirt. I made the colar smaller by cutting it at the back and rejoining it to the right size. Then I stitched the row of buttons down the front of the bear and buttoned the collar up around his neck. There was also a label on the shirt so I fussy cut that for the sole of one of his feet. </div>

Let me know if anyone is unsure.<br />
<br />
I have a little bag pattern for everyone so bring 3 coordinating fat quarters if anyone fancies making it.<br />
Also I will bring a few pattern books on small things to make so bring extra fabrics if you want to take part in that also.<br />
<br />

If they are slightly off then it can make things tricky. </div><div>Tip 1 make the triangle corners and borders from the log cabin before you fix any of it together. This will give you a good indication of placement. </div><div>If some of the blocks are off a bit then that didn't matter , just make sure all corners and borders on each side look the same.</div><div>So far in the two classes we have running everyone's have all fine together smoothly so I have every confidence yours will be ok too </div><div>I have no idea how this photo turned upside down but it gives you an idea of construction. </div><div>Here the sections have been made first before attaching the pieces on to the centre. </div><div>Good luck </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPtkILp7ANuaD0BJJsNP1bC4cqnMBIHFz0pCabzHn37hMjQEw5p4RdlmdLP4P7pO-CBTQ62TfCjkuLTsNEYDJ_Ru1Rr0E3EF0ZwuSYxzgVbDRiZ_wHycrclSMGwu7j0LcuIZE-D4W7UKUM/s640/blogger-image--1313309664.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPtkILp7ANuaD0BJJsNP1bC4cqnMBIHFz0pCabzHn37hMjQEw5p4RdlmdLP4P7pO-CBTQ62TfCjkuLTsNEYDJ_Ru1Rr0E3EF0ZwuSYxzgVbDRiZ_wHycrclSMGwu7j0LcuIZE-D4W7UKUM/s640/blogger-image--1313309664.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13378901570542262436noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2024464388770992158.post-10091230674767936572013-07-03T10:13:00.001-07:002013-07-03T10:13:50.460-07:00Week2.<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgphWOzdXeBa4-VB5wtyDxutWE98jes7m7hnfM72b73lXi9NgRuJGIWmrZ2tfBTVaK2Rjrx6WdnMpRDdBa-AEJSse-z-XXbHRLRMCw3__qVaRzbjcetWMYtSOL4q6FDl8AF0zmjZIX2WwRL/s640/blogger-image--757578725.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgphWOzdXeBa4-VB5wtyDxutWE98jes7m7hnfM72b73lXi9NgRuJGIWmrZ2tfBTVaK2Rjrx6WdnMpRDdBa-AEJSse-z-XXbHRLRMCw3__qVaRzbjcetWMYtSOL4q6FDl8AF0zmjZIX2WwRL/s640/blogger-image--757578725.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a>Two important things when making the log cabin blocks - chain piecing when sewing by machine saves thread and time. If you are using a collection of colours then it will be 15 in total from EACH group. This is based on fabric full width. You will need to double the quantity if you are using fat quarters. </div><div>This will give you a head start for the next set of instructions. </div><div><br></div>Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13378901570542262436noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2024464388770992158.post-24579383004250608092013-06-22T08:50:00.001-07:002013-06-22T08:50:32.432-07:00Week 1. Sashing and borders can make or break a quilt. It's always a good idea to "audition" the fabrics <div>Lay out your blocks and fabric and what you would like to use or the sashing. Arrange in final placement. Walk away for 5 minutes, when you go back to it you will know if its the right fabric :) <br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSWGvLyz4pvKSTUZotsSLXkcgoTDnZadbEOEN2_fbcZm1b33D89CEAEx5dRH_NYuEBDslA2hw_vlprL0jn0mxAl1iGi_16h5hOtZdYVkAbw8hrvP4uA5j7rIdOiiMKeMkTHNjuGBbzL5eC/s640/blogger-image--987887690.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSWGvLyz4pvKSTUZotsSLXkcgoTDnZadbEOEN2_fbcZm1b33D89CEAEx5dRH_NYuEBDslA2hw_vlprL0jn0mxAl1iGi_16h5hOtZdYVkAbw8hrvP4uA5j7rIdOiiMKeMkTHNjuGBbzL5eC/s640/blogger-image--987887690.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiprBHUG4VCgCLSlP2Mhijc0RBM-5QwnT0hoyNnpOGJQ2yoVvAgIoGqV2q7ly806VAW3D5E4QaRaIAS2gH9oxYST1HerB4pG1TCABlO9yn0TR_o308iOO7zvXwgFvl6DAcC57sKVWkE5B2f/s640/blogger-image-1315969220.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiprBHUG4VCgCLSlP2Mhijc0RBM-5QwnT0hoyNnpOGJQ2yoVvAgIoGqV2q7ly806VAW3D5E4QaRaIAS2gH9oxYST1HerB4pG1TCABlO9yn0TR_o308iOO7zvXwgFvl6DAcC57sKVWkE5B2f/s640/blogger-image-1315969220.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsMDTu-Wsl4VMVl2Siao0FLrpXZYLoInp1DcsGypjbjRzcWtp-Iokv4iCWDRaPHAt72_vzWnMatX-s54qBaw5EW4vRr1nJkjbJ2H2kYap7AD79CnGRt42Cg3N9owhYYEr7wVJXSeSC6_5G/s640/blogger-image--565972927.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhsMDTu-Wsl4VMVl2Siao0FLrpXZYLoInp1DcsGypjbjRzcWtp-Iokv4iCWDRaPHAt72_vzWnMatX-s54qBaw5EW4vRr1nJkjbJ2H2kYap7AD79CnGRt42Cg3N9owhYYEr7wVJXSeSC6_5G/s640/blogger-image--565972927.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1nmI1HH-6ivOZCFEIfQd8S4tRuDpKlgMf3lEPK4xEfHo_UhKYLmtkn8K5hslQN_ZlIBdRzA5Nd9lztqGdT9xTK2SiMcdCut6F_bHKD9swldbdotlNUu_eH3hsewXgiuUGS8Dxqzldvvxx/s640/blogger-image-1179459605.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1nmI1HH-6ivOZCFEIfQd8S4tRuDpKlgMf3lEPK4xEfHo_UhKYLmtkn8K5hslQN_ZlIBdRzA5Nd9lztqGdT9xTK2SiMcdCut6F_bHKD9swldbdotlNUu_eH3hsewXgiuUGS8Dxqzldvvxx/s640/blogger-image-1179459605.jpg"></a></div><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyDlDVOyi0cYd1D1xB8fHtMwXEQE-GqMAW4LZwx2M4EZNCh-0MCQIcTBROH5Rov43FPC361_v5Ll4a71UsaGFoCN7sEx0WGbkvxotOWAtDRrQaEzrdP5UyGsgZsBBwJ6Aaw_Jg9nhOHWrO/s640/blogger-image-1147109504.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhyDlDVOyi0cYd1D1xB8fHtMwXEQE-GqMAW4LZwx2M4EZNCh-0MCQIcTBROH5Rov43FPC361_v5Ll4a71UsaGFoCN7sEx0WGbkvxotOWAtDRrQaEzrdP5UyGsgZsBBwJ6Aaw_Jg9nhOHWrO/s640/blogger-image-1147109504.jpg"></a></div></div>Nikkihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13378901570542262436noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2024464388770992158.post-1063279642880896182013-05-27T12:51:00.001-07:002013-05-27T12:51:16.804-07:00Corners -This week your blocks will come alive as you add the corners on. Renamed by Ann who is doing this class as the brain drain....<br />
here are the pictures to help with placement, but the hardest part of this block is the cutting. it is a little tricky.<br />
Follow the cutting instructions and then layout the pieces, to make sure you have cut the right pieces.<br />
When you are sewing, line up the top and their should be a slight overhang at the bottom, but as stated in the instructions pin the pieces together first and open to check the correct placement.<br />
<br />
<br />

When you have completed the four sections sew together to complete the block.<br />
<br />
Good luck and send me pictures of the blocks pleeeease.<br />
